………………………………….………………………………….
Born in 492, the second child of Gwynedd and Eirwen of Idmiston, Gwynaelle knew nothing but love and happiness. Her father is a well-known knight for the Earl, gaining glory upon the battlefield. Her mother was content to take care of the manor and the people of Idmiston while raising her children. It was a dim day when she would pass away after delivering her youngest, the midwives unable to save her life. They were able to keep her son from following after her with the help of a wetnurse brought in to tend to him.
There was Rhys, the elder brother who would eventually follow in their father's footsteps and become a knight. Within a year, however, he would be killed at the Battle of Levcomagus in 505.
There was Hadyn, the younger brother, full of mischief and pranks. He would die in 506 when the winter plague would hit Idmiston.
Gwynaelle, herself, would grow into a lovely young woman who carries the family's generosity, helping those in need almost to a fault sometimes. She is pagan, as is her family, overseeing many of the seasonal ceremonies at Idmiston while taking care of the manor when her father is away at battle.
There are those that would whisper how much she tended to follow her father, brothers and those fostered and squired at Idmiston, picking up a few 'unlady-like' skills, including how to wield a crossbow, but now that she is the heiress, those whispers are quieting.
Until the summer of 514, Gwynaelle was considered the heir of Idmiston Manor, her father intending that she might marry an unlanded knight who might be willing to take on the Idmiston name. But love for the neighboring heir at Newentone, caused a shift in that thinking for her father. With her betrothal and marriage to Glaw after permission was gained by the Earl, Gwynedd would name his brother's second son, Talfryn, to be the heir.
Tall, with a willowy figure is this woman. Deep, dark auburn hair near the color of black with highlights of flame frames a face seemingly plain by many standards but for the intense hue of blue that colors her eyes, lashes thick and brows delicately arched above. A noble nose sits above lips often curved up in a quiet smile. Her skin is pale, dusted in places with a hint of freckles. There's a hidden grace to this woman, a quietness in personality that surrounds her. One piece of jewelry she wears all the time on her left wrist - a gold bangle with three dark black-red rubies set within.
Distinct Feature
Famous Trait: Generous - Above and beyond what might be normal for most pagans, Gwynaelle has become known for her generous nature. Down on your luck? Need a meal or even a job? Stop by Idmiston and the lady of the manor is certain to help you out. There are those that might take advantage of this, but her handmaiden, Lysette, is there to keep an eye on her mistress.
Animals - Besides the generous nature towards humans, Gwynaelle has a soft spot for animals as well. She has a small collection of pets that include several dogs that are often in her presence, to an owl that is used to hunt with. Idmiston is haven to the odd three-legged dog, blind feline, and a few horses that have seen their share of years. The lady of the manor will not allow anyone to put them down, unless it's truly more humane to do so.
Intense Blue Eyes - The blue eyes seem to run in the Idmiston family. A noticeable feature in many of them.
Pagan - Raised as a follower of the old ways, Gwynaelle may be seen seeking the advice of the priest/ess, not to mention, following each holiday as it comes. Rumors say that she even leaves offerings to the fae, to keep them appeased so as to not make too much mischief for those upon Idmiston lands.
Steward - While Gwynaelle had been taught the general knowledge a lady of the manor should have about the lands and home, upon the death of her brothers, and her father's continued absence with duties to the Earl, she has taken more of the duties about Idmiston. She has proven herself to be quite capable in running it, much to the surprise of some. And now those skills shall be used at Newentone (Newton Tony), her new home.
Archery - When Gwynaelle was younger, she watched a few of the huntsmen of the manor use a bow. With a bit of wheedling, she managed to get one of them to teach her to use a crossbow. It might not be the most noble of weapons, but it allows her to protect herself, and her people, if ever needed.
