After getting yelled at about the incident up in Oxenwood and tasked with the caretaking not only of the Pagans on his lands, but also the pagans at the mountain temple, Lord Oxenwood is pacing back and forth across the tournament fields, quietly fuming with the whole idea of having to deal with many more mouths to feed.

Talaith arrives on the grounds ready to train and hopefully seek out someone to spar with. There is a gentle spring to her step and a soft sway to her hips as she saunters onto the grounds. Her expression is a cheerful thing and she doesn't immediately spot the familiar Lord either. Instead she moves to a free area of the grounds nearby and goes through a few practice forms on her own, warming up in preparation for a spar or two. She moves with precision as she warms up and near the end she starts showing off just a little, twisting her body in movements that are almost provactive as she finishes her stretching and warming up.

As he's storming, Lord Oxenwood notices Talaith as he turns and he seethes. "You." he growls, his hands gathered at his sides as he glares at the young woman - who is actually older than him, but semantics! "It is because of you and your brother that I now have even more mouths to feed, with my resources already stretched thin."

Critical Fail!
Talaith checked her Flirting of 13, she rolled 20.

Talaith looks his way and tilts her head to one side her hair falling across one shoulder. She slowly starts over towards him, her steps slow and more like a predator stalking prey than anything seductive. Her expression is stubborn, defiant and yet her tone remains quite calm as she addresses him. "Its my fault my Lord? If I recall correctly I would have fought you myself and given you a sporting chance. It was my brother that stopped this. Still if you wish for a fight I won't disappoint you." She watches him with bright blue eyes that glimmer with gleeful excitement at the chance to fight him. Oh how she has been waiting for this! She already has her blade drawn and holds it at the ready watching him and waiting for his reaction.

"Are you still offering the same wager - if you lose, you agree to a marriage?" Lord Oxenwood says as he watches the woman with her stalkerish prey towards him, and his hand on his sword. There's no way he's as trained as she is, but there's something to be said for his moxy as he considers the young woman and her curves as she closes the distance between the two.

"Is that what you want if you win my Lord? If that pleases you then yes, that offer will stand." Talaith offers him a sweet little smile, playful and teasing. Her gaze rake over his form breifly and then her eyes lock with his intently, that gaze teasing him as well. Her blade remains readied as she continues. "If that is not the case then I will let you name something else as your prize before we begin. However if I win I will simply enjoy my victory…you need not worry about granting me favors. I would not even dream of causing you that sort of grief…not when you already have such troubles."

"No, that would be acceptable." Who wouldn't want the beautiful knight as his arm candy. Settling into a combat stance, Lord Oxenwood studies Talaith, considering her for a moment. "What is your challenge, knight?" he asks as he watches her. His combat stance speaks of inexperience. He is obviously no knight and has not trained to be one. If he wins, it will be dumb luck. But he knows he needs to marry a knight to legitimize his claim.

Talaith studies the Lord in return and adjusts her stance. Her own stance is more experienced and in her mind she cannot lose this one. Her expression shows some of that stubborness and at his words she states the rules of thier challenge in a calm tone. "The first to land five hits on the other is the victor…if that is acceptable to you Lord Oxenwood?" She watches his every movement, ready and waiting for him to give the okay to her challenge and its rules.

"Very well. I accept your terms." Lord Oxenwood says as the young man considers for a moment and then gestures over to his knights. "Sir Iorwerth, I choose you as my champion for this challenge." He's barely of age and untrained - he's well within the rules of chivalry to accept her terms and still choose a champion as his stand in. The knight stands and rolls his eyes a little. "My apologies, sir." he offers in advance as he draws his blade to stand in place of the young Lord. "As he is the only heir to the land, he must have a stand in."

Talaith's eyes narrow a bit as the Lord choses to let another fight for him. She sighs softly and offers a polite nod and a soft smile to Sir Iorwerth. "Don't worry about it Sir, though I admit I was hoping to fight him myself." She looks rather disapointed by the fact that she won't get to beat on the Lord actually. She even pouts a little but remains at the ready and she draws in a slow breath. "Whenever you are ready then." She still looks stubborn and defiant, she isn't planning to lose its not an option. But at least this man may be a challenge for her.

"This is not a duty I carry out with gratitude, sir." Iorwerth says as he looks over at Lord Oxenwood and his eyes narrow. "Apparently he is very interested in you." he says as he draws his blade and circles the young woman, looking for an opening to strike as he considers her. "Your firm holds strong and true, sir. You have had excellent training."

Talaith gives Iorwerth a nod of understanding. Not begrudging him for simply doing his duty, in fact she seems to respect him for it. She circles him in return looking for a chance to strike herself. "As have you Sir. In fact I think it will be an honor to face a man of your skill." She replies to the compliment with one of her own and then she darts in to strike. She isn't quick enough though and he lands a point before she can land one of her own though her form remains good, her defense solid.

The two tangle swords, and Iorwerth grunts as he gives nod. "I thank you for your understanding, Sir." he says as he moves against the woman, and after their swords touch, Talaith will find herself scoring another point. "Fine form, Sir. If I were to be facing you, I would be honored to be with you." he says with a grin, working his blade as he steps back to prepare to test her for an opening.

Talaith smiles sweetly at the knight laughing lightly at his words. Its a gentle amused laugh and she offers him a soft teasing reply. "Be with me? Why Sir…it almost sounds like you would envy your Lord if you were to win this fight." Shortly after she scores a point he scores another himself. She keeps her guard up not giving up and looking even more determined as she tests his defenses in return.

With their swords colliding, Sir Iorwerth looks impressed with Talaith's defense and that she slips in to score a point on him. "If I were able to do such, perhaps." he teases her back before the knight feels the tamp of the blade on his side. "One of skill and wit. You would make a fine Lady for our lands, Sir. But I would understand your want not tio be tied down to such."

Lord Oxenwood frowns. "Less talking, more striking, Iorwerth!" he calls out, causing the knight to grit his teeth.

There is a look of sympathy given to the knight as his Lord calls out to him. Talaith smiles softly once more and steals herself, he strikes another point on her but she keeps pressing ever onward, testing his defenses in return and looking for her own opening to strike back. She looks determined, stubborn and its clear that she will fight as hard as she can to prevent being tied down.

With the sword continuing, it's obvious to Talaith that Iorwerth is taking no pleasure in this - however, he's refusing to insult her by going easy on her. As the battle starts to lag, and they continue to strike, find, and then strike again, his appreciation for the young woman grows. "You are an excellent knight, sir. You will do your family proud."

Talaith smiles gently to Iorwerth. "You are quite a gentleman Sir as well as an exceptionally talented knight and I am honored by your words." As he lands another strike making his forth hit there is a brief look of fear in her eyes. Fear of the possibility of losing this fight. That fear is quickly overtaken by pure stubborness and a refusal to quit. She studies her opponent with a look of true respect and graditude. He takes her seriously and this makes her grateful beyond words, that graditude shows in her gaze. She still doesn't want to lose though and she pressing in once more fighting with all that she has.

"Hold!" Lord Oxenwood's voice hangs in the air, and Sir Iorwerth holds his strike as the young man steps forth and draws his blade. "I will score the last point." he says, stubborn pride showing through as he glances to the knight. "Stand aside and allow me to claim my victory."

"Lord, I do not think this is a wise course of action.." Iorwerth advises.

Silence!" Lord Oxenwood says as he steps into the fray, a swing of his blade towards Talaith so that he may claim the strike that claims the lady as his.

Talaith looks to the Lord as he decides to try and claim his victory. Well she isn't going to make it easy on him! The wide swing of Lord Oxenwoods blade is met with a calculated wack to his sword arm, perhaps even sending the blade out of his grip. Talaith remains unhit and she gets another point as well. She considers a moment a darkening to those blue eyes. It would be so easy to just poke him and end this here. Easy but dishorable and even if the Lord is a jerk his champion has proved honorable and maybe she wants to return the favor. Either way she waits watching the Lord with an amused smirk. "Well my Lord Oxenwood? Shall we decide this then? All either of us need is one more hit."

Grumbling as he picks up his sword, the Lord growling as he looks to Sir Iorwerth. "You should have prepared her better!" he snaps at the knight.

Iorwerth, for his part, rolls his eyes. "M'lord, she is not an easy conquest, but is worthy of any title bestowed upon her." There's a glance towards the young woman and an appreciative nod of his head at the battling beauty.

Picking his blade up off the ground, the Lord frowns. "You will look even more worthy spread on my bed on our wedding night." he says as he prepares his sword for a strike, a frown on his youthful face as he steps in and tries to strike Talaith, and claim her as a wife.

Maybe its the fear of losing, maybe its the Lords arrogance making her see red, or maybe its sheer stubborness but once Lord Oxenwood has his sword and is moving to strike her she doesn't hold back. She sweeps her blade low striking him hard on his legs in an attempt to send him off balance and onto his back on the ground. He hits the ground and she steps forward looming over him with a beautiful and dangerous looking smile on her lips. "I would look quite lovely yes…however you don't have the right to claim me as such. Sir Iorwerth can try again in his own name if he dares though!" She teases them both a bit and laughs merrily. Her boot lifts gently brushing against the fallen Lords thigh before she pulls it back and backs away from him.

The young lord sputters as he lands flat on his ass and the older woman teases him. "You /wench/." he growls, grabbing his blade as if about to attack. "You probably are full of disease from the men you've bedded!"

Iorwerth's sword comes between the two, and the older knight growls at his young Lord. "Nephew, you will hold your tongue. Your pride and ego have caused this defeat, not the knight. You will aplogize to her immediately or you will face the flat of my blade." he says in flat demand.

Lord Oxenwood stares up at his uncle, and frowns. "Fine. Sorry." he mutters, scrambling to his feet to huffily leave, as Iorwerth glances over at the other knight and house guard to send him to watch over the Lord.

"What a bloody mess." Iorwerth mutters as he turns his attention to Talaith. "He's impetious and an idiot, but I have to respect his wishes as my Manor head. Are you alright, Sir Talaith?" he asks, kind blue eyes studying the woman.
