The second round of jousting, and Sir Bradwyn rides up to the lists. His charger ready, the six foot knight towers more on his steed as his young squire who looks to barely be old enough for the title moves over to hand over the round shield for Bradwyn, just a little awkward given the size of the shield compared to the boy.

Slipping on his helm, securing it Bradwyn takes up his lance after securing the shield, wearing his full armor now, wearing the colors of House Idmiston, and wearing a few hair ribbons on his left arm just above the bicep, the ribbons showing the colors of House Durnford. His name being announced as he rode out and the recent banns in Sarum there is little doubt whose favor the tall knight with an athletic build wears. Lifting his lance in salute he calls to his opponent as they take position and prepare, "May the gods bless the victor, or the Christ if such is your faith!" He is clearly a pagan but seems to have no issue with others worshipping as they wish, long as they don't seek to change him.

This was brave Sir Wynne de Clatford's first official joust, having just been knighted weeks prior. He was a lanky, plain-looking young man with a mop of frizzy red hair and many a freckle, but he cuts a strong and lean figure as he sits upon his bay charger. A round shield bearing the sigil of his house rests calmly at his side as he approaches the lists, his brown eyes peering thoughtfully ahead at his first opponent through his visor. He wears no favor of his own.

He acknowledges the words of Sir Bradwyn with a short nod. "May the best knight be victorious, Sir."

Bradwyn nods and spurs his horse, charging forward to bring his lance to bear. Unfortunately for him his lance deflects off the young knight's shield and their lance strikes Bradwyn square. Even with his shield to absorb some of the blow he is still lifted from his saddle and brought to the ground. Best knight, more blessed knight, or just sheer luck the knight that brought down a famous knight just the day before has been brought down by a young knight on his first tilt. Rising Bradwyn lifts his arm and calls, "Well struck!" then turns to return his own pavilion as he did take something of a wound, though a bit minor, he is wise enough not to take chances.

As the short-lived joust between Sir Bradwyn and the ginger knight of House Clatford comes to an anti-climatic but surprising end, with the younger besting the older, Sir Rowan prepares himself for his own upcoming joust. His squire Hefin helps him with adjusting his greaves before his knight departs to mount is black charger. He wheels his horse around to gallop towards the lists as the other knights quit the field.

When the announcement rings through the air, he is ready with his lance in one hand and his shield in the other. The favor he wears tied to his wrist - a leather strap - is visible but does not draw the same attention a festive ribbon would. He salutes his opponent stationed across from him. "Good luck, Sir."

The young knight opposite Rowan lifts their lance in salute and shouts, "And you!" then readies for the charge itself, when the flag drops go!

These young knights were feisty! The knights gallantly pass each other, but his opponent's lance strikes harder against him - with almost enough force to knock him clean off his saddle. Normally Rowan would fall if he were less alert, but he angles his body with the momentum and catches himself before he is fully unhorsed. Exhaling harshly, he stubbornly rights himself in the saddle and prepares for the next pass.

Failed.

The next pass is nearly a repeat of the first, only with Rowan's lance whiffing entirely! The next blow he receives isn't as strong as the last, and he successfully rights himself again before he can take a tumble. He was beginning to feel the bruising, but he wasn't out for the count. There were a few faces in the crowd looking somewhat impressed… somewhat. His enviable horsemanship meant little if he ended up losing!

The joust continues in earnest, and several passes are made. Rowan's opponent, however, was hitting harder - and it was beginning to show in the young lord of Wylye in spite of his impressive clinging to his horse. Eventually, however, one blow hits just too forcefully for Rowan to pull himself back in and he takes a spectacular tumble into the mud. Where he stays for one long moment, attempting to regain his composure in his defeat.

(OOC note: Rowan accumulated 13 damage w/armor)
