Derec de Knook > Erion de Woodford (famous)

Famous Knight, Sir Derec de Knook sits astride his charger looking quite dashing indeed. He was famous for his skills in the joust as well as his skills with the ladies. His helm is slid over his luxurious wavy ebony locks and he looks a might poncy as he glances at the crowd. And the ladies. His squire gets his attention with the gentle prodding of a lance to his side, "Sir," he whispers, "Sir.. it's time to begin." Derec reaches for the lance and laughs heartily. "Thank you, Derwen." Accepting the lance, he looks towards the other end and when givent he go ahead… he rides, lance out. Like any good joust champion would do.

Morag is seated amongst a sea of young women who've come to witness this battle of beauties. There's a clear divide between Sir Erion's and Sir Knook's. If the win doesn't occur promptly, there may be a riot of barely post adolescent ladies!

Sitting atop a white charger in well maintained and polished armor is a knight to rival even Sir Derec in looks. The golden haired Sir Erion de Woodford looks postively dashing as he takes his helmet from his squire and carefully secures it. He takes up his lance and holds his shield bearing the Woodford crest at the ready as he rides out to meet his opponent for the day. The ladies might have some trouble deciding who to cheer for in this match. Sir Erion salutes Sir Derec and readies himself riding out to meet the other knight for the first pass.

Derec rides hard for the other end, his lance positioned to land above the shield of the opponent to strike his shoulder and send him sprawling. That's the intent anyway. As he rides, he strikes, feels the solid hit and at the other end, turns to see if he had unhorsed his opponent. Seeing that he had, he lifts the hand holding the lance and waves to all his fans in the stands and as ribbons and kerchiefs and flowers are tossed out he rides back down the list, scooping select ones up with the end of his lance, getting a collection down the shaft. A nod is offered to the Woodford, but his gaze strays once more for the ladies.

Team Derec and Team Erion almos miss the joust for all the glaring going on. But then Derec bests Erion, and Team D goes mad with shrill girlish delight while Team E looks on with mournful sighs.

Elger de Fisherton < Dalan de Newton (average)

Dalan rides out onto to the field, having been next to compete according to the lists. The big lumox of a knight, sits astride his charger as he adjust his helm and chainmail as he waits for his opponent to set. The Herald calls forward his opponent, a Sir Edain from Cornwall. Both knights take lances from their squires and raise them in salute to one another. Waiting a moment to receive word from the judge to Tilt, when it is given they both spur their horses into a charge and level lances at once another.

Next up is an Average sort of knight supposed to be meeting Dalan. He's on his charger, his helm slid on and he's trying to shake his head so the hair is out of his eyes. He has to lift the helmet off his head, shake out his hair and tip it back before sliding it back into place. And that was just his beard hair! Sir Elger de Fisherton looks and likely smells like a fisherman, he takes up his lance and at the go ahead, he rides hard down the list, aiming his lance towards his opponent.

Laurwyn is sitting up in the stands, but can't help but standing and moving with a swaying and swirling of skirts to stand with her hands on the railing and watching Dalan as she bites her lower lip.

Lance strikes, Dalan's shield and with a thunderous crash, the big knight is nearly knocked from the saddle. He barely manages to right himself in his saddle as he rides to the other end field. Looking down at the black ribbon with the simple silver cross on it he brushes a finger over his favor and turns the horse, ready for another charge.

Standing on the sidelines of the list, Isyld is dressed as a lady and she watches as the two make the passes, interested in who would win but having no personal stake in either one. Curious, she looks to Dalan, having met him on the road to here before, and then the other knight, she just awaits a winner. The squire at her side gasps at the pass and she gives the younger girl a quick grin. "Someone you favor?"

Hooves pound, dirt flies, a grunt as Sir de Fisherton is struck and makes contact in return. Even before he gets to the other end of the list he knows he had failed to unseat his opponent. He shakes his head again, hair in his face, but at the go ahead, he rides towards the opponent once more.

Sir Dalan is again struck viciously hard in the saddle, but he manages to keep himself seated. Say what you will about his skills he is nothing if not tenacious. With a grimace Dalan gets himself righted in his saddle as he returns to the original position he started from and draws a deep breath. He steadies his horse and says, "Steady, Agrippa… steady. We're not out of this yet." And that said he spurs his horse again and rides forward, leveling his lance at Sir Elger.

Elger grouses after the next pass, turning his horse, making contact but not with enough force to knock off the larger knight. Hesitating just long enough to rearrange his lance and secure it against him, he rides when given the go ahead.

Dalan and Elger pass very close to each other but this, and again the more experienced knight is on point. Striking Dalan's shield, but somewhat left of center. With a defiant growl he swats the lance away with his shield and keeps his balance, barely phased until he rides to the end of the run and turns for another charge.

Arriving at the Tourney Fields, Elrick is walking his steed in the direction of where the jousts are occurring. It appears that the Laverstock is also up for the tilts, having advancing to the second round after narrowly defeating Sir Bartimaeus. He also has three blunted lances with him, part of the kit for the jousting tourney. His gaze is currently focused on the current two knights that are tilting, watching them make their passes.

Four passes, and Dalan has been hit 4 times. but the huge Cyrmic knight refuses to leave that saddle. One last time the young knight turns and charges forward. Sensing some frustration brewing in Sir Elger, the young Dalan levels his lance and aims for center shield Connecting this time, and doing so with terrific force!

And As Sir Elger flies from his Saddle the big knight halts his horse, and slides out of the saddle so he can salute his opponent and help them up. He salutes the judge as well and then turns to make his way out of the field. He looks down to the favor tied about his wrist and leans down to kiss the cross lightly.

It goes on and on.. several passes, a few lances later, and Elger is still facing his opponent from the other end of the list. With a new lance tucked against him he rides off for the other end of the list, the fourth pass, and he meets the larger knights lance and it's the end of his dream of becoming champion. He sits up, gathering his helm and waves to show he is fine before nodding to his opponent and limping off towards the tents.

Geralt de Sutton > Elrick de Laverstock (average)

Once the list is cleared Geralt de Sutton takes his place at the end of the list. Another one of average skill, average fame, average looks, average horse and average armor, he looks a little nervous as he fumbles with the lance when he tries tucking it against him. He drops it, a squire fishes it up for him and offers it back. Managing to prepare himself finally, he awaits the signal before riding towards his opponent.

Once Elrick's name is announced that he is to be Sir Geralt's opponent, he goes through the basics of setting up for the joust. Taking the three blunted lances off of his steed, he stabs all three into the ground so they are there to be picked up if one is shattered. Then he climbs onto his charger, finding a comfortable position on the saddle. Taking his helm off of the pommel of the saddle, he slips it over his head and secures. Pulling one of the lances off of the ground, the Laverstock Knight takes position at his end of the tilt, giving those who are spectating a confident wave of his hand before closing the visor to his help. A quick salute to the knight on the other end of the tilts, Elrick waits for the signal. Then it's he is off, his charger's hooves thundering down the lane.

For absolutely no reason at all, Isyld takes a greater interest in this particular match involving the Sutton and the Laverstock. There is a look between the two and one down at her squire before she gives a lopsided smile. "What?" She responds softly to her squires grin, nudging her. Evae laughs and nudges her back, but that's the end of the exchange for the moment.

Despite a strong showing in the first round against a formidable knight, the day is not with Elrick for the second round of the joust. As the two knights close in quickly with each other, the Laverstock's lance comes down a little later than Sir Geralt's. That results in a poor hit on his part, glancing off of the Sutton Knight's shield while his opponent's lance slams squarely onto his. Unable to hold onto the saddle, Elrick flies off of his horse and lances on his back, air being knocked out from him for a moment. It takes a moment but the Laverstock Knight slowly rolls over and eventually climbs to his feet, pulling his helm off in frustration.

Geralt rides for the end of the list, determined he would make this shorter than the match before, whichever in the lineup that happened to be. His lance catches his opponent and his hard, but was it enough? At the end, he spins his horse around to see was he still on horseback..

There's a wince from the Chalke knight on the sidelines when the Laverstock falls but only once he makes his way to his feet does she turn to quietly head back for the city and perhaps the tavern. Isyld only turns and looks back once before her and the squire disappear into the crowd.

Eton de Willcott < Idris de Bodenham (notable)

The Willcotts push out all the good knights. Or it's a rumor anyway, one that Sir Eton de Willcott is only trying to capitalize on. Looking incredibly intimidating on his powerful charger, he tilts his helm covered head back slightly to look more patrician. In his hand is a lance and the lance is wrapped in the colors of his house. He positions it into place and at the go ahead, he.. goes ahead.

It is another day, another joust for Idris. The Bodenham knight does the sign of the cross as he rides into the lists, atop his dark grey horse, the stallion the rebellious, unruly kind. He is clad once again in that black tabard with the prominent argent swords in a sable field coat-of-arms. Given his jousting lance by his squire, he takes in a deep breath, trotting, initially, before going for a full gallop, the lance aimed to the enemy's current position and readjusted ever so slightly as he gets closer.

One pass down, Eton turns at the end and looks to his opponent, head tilting at the lance thing.. what was that? He lifts his own and waves it to the guy in a salute before reaiming. He's going to ride when the word is given.

Unfortunately there was a miscalculation on account of Idris' in how his lance would hit his chest. A mistake in calculation, it shatters before contact is even made, which then makes the Bodenham knight contend with the fact he was hit. However, he is steady on his saddle and wheels around, grabbing another lance and riding down to meet his enemy at the middle once again, with no more silly tricks.

Another pass and another, the second there was equal contact and Eton juggles his lance around a little, almost dropping it from the hit, but he manages to keep himself and his horse under control. The third, he hits his opponent, but when he turns he notices the knight was still in his saddle.. and so he lines up for another pass.

Indeed, the second pass the knights are equally matched, which prompts Idris to laugh, as he takes the third lance. Then the third pass has him get hit again, and the Bodenham is very, very quiet. He glances across the list to the man, takes the fourth lance and gallops forward, still cool and restrained despite the anger he must be feeling at the moment.

Eton was getting tired. Pass after pass after pass and he can't seem to unhorse his larger opponent. Even those on the sidelines were looking bored with it and just wanting it over, no matter who won it! The notable knight losing a bit of his favor with the length of time he was taking to settle it. In the end, he is very horribly unhorsed, flying up and off the saddle, the lance jabbing into him as he falls. He needs assistance getting off the field but he does manage it after a short time.

Idris, on the other hand, kept himself on his saddle, trying not to get knocked off of his mount. Wilcott pushes out the best knights? No, no. Bodenham was about to give this man the taste of humility. Pass after pass, neither rider took clear advantage, neither rider fell. The knight in black's shield is full of splinters from the other's jousting lances, the coat of arms of his house almost carved entirely out of the shield, at the end. Then he takes the faithful seventh lance (a holy number for most Christians), does the sign of the cross and rides his stallion down the lists. He flashes Eton a smile, jabbing the tip of the lance right at the man's shoulder, this time, riding away and wheeling around before he can see the result. When he can, he laughs, holding the splintered lance and displaying the light-blue length of rope coiled around his wrist, as with last time. "BODENHAM!"

Tecwyn de Tytherington > Cyndeyrn de Dinton (average)

Sir Tecwyn de Tytherington is another of the average knights. He's had a good showing in the first round of the joust and had high hopes of continuing into the third round. There was one very large Dinton that was standing in the way of his dreams, but he was optimistic. And his lance was sturdy as was his horse. He waits at the end of the list for the indication it was time to ride and when he rides, he rides hard towards the opposite end, the business end of his lance aimed for his opponent.

It seems that Cyndeyrn and his squire have not quite worked out all of the kinks in their tourney routine, indeed, this was a problem in the first round and no doubt the lad will get a talking to, being blamed for much of it! So there is a brief delay off to the sidelines after their names are called. "No, that's the wrong lance. No, not that- yes, that one. Yes, bring it here!" After a bit of argument and a near incident of showing up on the field with a non-blunted weapon (oops!) everything seems resolved, and the pair makes their way out, the Dinton's steed clomping heavily to the far side of the list as its rider settles himself above. As ever, apart from the blue and red surcoat and shield bearing the family arms, he wears some small handkerchief tied to his arm. With all this in place, he finally holds at his end, and signals the (perhaps weary) judges that he is ready!

One pass, then another, and several more. Lances were running low, there were too few brought with the knight and he had to buckle down and get serious, as if he wasn't already. The larger Dinton knight was playing hell on them. He tucks his last one against him as his squire is trying to barter with other knights unhorsed in their first round, to try and line up another few in case it came to it. It proves unnecessary as the knight rides hard and in the middle of the list, he meets the Dinton squarely with his lance. Was it enough? At the other end, he turns to see..

Cyndeyrn makes a good show of it, riding several passes with his opponent, although as each passes, the Dinton seems to be taking the worse of it. Several times he is struck, and while the large knight is solid in the saddle, it must take some toll on him, and moreso on the arm that holds his shield, to suffer one heavy impact after another against it. Indeed, one pass is especially spectacular, the sort of blow that would almost certainly unhorse a smaller rider, and which leaves Cyndeyrn swaying in his saddle… but still ahorse. Still toll begins to show. On one of the last passes, he misses his opponent fully, his lancetip wavering in the last moments. And while the Dinton is able to position himself better on the next pass, it seems his endurance for the many blows has run out. Once again, his shield takes a hit, and though it hardly looks any stronger than the others - and surely less than the one spectacular blow in the midst of their passes - this time he sways back and… well, doesn't sway forward again. His balance tips too far back, and the heavy figure, made moreso in his armor, topples with a great thud to the dirt below.

Crwys de Coombe Bisset < John de Bodenham (old)

In the crowds of people watching the joust is a short curvy lady with ebony curls in an egelant black and red dress. Syndra de Baverstock watches the joust with perfect composure looking neither interested nor particularly bored. Her expression remains a mask those dark eyes peering at the competing knights calmly, clapping witht he crowd when appropriate. She stands out a bit her straight posture and regal demeanor marking her as a lady.

Again as the lists continue and knights are helped from the tournament, another knight of Griffin and Key is called. The Shield marked in sable and argent Griffin the personal arms of Sir John de Bodenham is knocked while an elder knight from Gloucester is called as well, Sir Brom de Champe, whose own heraldry of a cockatrice rampant on a field of green is also knocked. Sir John, thus far has become mildly famous for his defeat of the well known Sir William de Faux, and thus garners a buzz as he and charger appear im their station. As the elder knight gets jnto place, he bows lance in salute of the younger Bodenham. John follows suit, before both beasts take off and men aim to knock the other down.

Sir Crwys de Coombe Bisset, one of the older knights and grizzled in appearance slides his helm over his head and narrows his gaze towards his opponent. He takes his lance from the squire and positions it and after he's announced he salutes to the crowd. At the go ahead, he prods his horse into action, riding for his opponent.

Tegan has decided to come witness whatever it is thats happening on the tournament field. And with luck, she manages to make it just in time to watch her brother-in-law jousting. Because she has missed both Idris and Bran's matches, she decides to stay to witness atleast this one. She moves through the crowd, close enough to the edge of the field to observe but not be in the way.

The horses continue to thunder along, John's lance is aimed true as he goes for the helm of Sir Crwys. He settles in the saddle and braces himself for impact as shield rises to deflect the elder knight's blow and let it go aside as he rides. Closer and closer

The sound of the impact is heard and a gasp from the crowd as Sir Crwys is knocked like a rag doll from his steed. John rides to the end of the tilt and turns to see his opponent laying down, squire's coming to aid him in standing. Once it is certain the old man lives, John salutes him and calls out. "Well fought sir!" Before moving to follow the elder knight off the grounds and see to him further.

A loud clap comes from Tegan as its quite clear that John's lance meets its mark and the older knight goes down hard. She even might look impressed, though perhaps she is just easily so. The small woman dips her head slightly as someone comes to speak quietly to her, "oh good it seems Sir Idris has succeeded in his joust as well. The family is well represented it seems."

Sir Wynne de Kimpton is one of the older knights and she appears a little bedraggled. The strength is there and the willingness to prove herself to the younger knights. She sits straight and tall on her mount, hair threading with silver but her features still hold a bit of their youthful vigor. There's a stoic look on her face before she lowers the helm over her head and takes the lance in her hand. Seven passes it would ultimately be, seven long, hard passes where she gets hit, hurt, knocked around and yet she still remains in the saddle, strong and proud. On the final, she turns at the end and looks to see if her opponent was still up.

Success
Seraphina checked her dex of 12, she rolled 2.

Seraphina once more within her armor as been called late to the lists. She arrives with her horse in a good mood as he seems prance just slightly even if the Knight herself is silent and in the shadows of her hood. A lance is handed up by the young boy who is her squire and she gives a small nod to him before she rides to her end of the lists.
The first pass is done with thundering of hooves and comes with her lance missing, and be rocked back into the saddle, but staying on the charger, Seraphina wheels around for the next past.
The next pass sees the Older's Knight lance trashed and Seraphina still on her horse.
Third pass and Seraphina seems to almost have her.
Fourth-Fifth-Sixth passes are more of the same, rocked to the side, but still in the saddle.
IT is the last and seventh pass that is the undoing of Sir Seraphina, while larger and taller than some females, she just does not have the size to ride out the perfect strike. So it is with a hard fought battle that Seraphina is tumbled from her horse, but instead of ending on her ass, back, head or something worse. The Knight of Ebony ends down on one knee but perfectly "standing" as she raises her hand to give a bow to the older Knight and then pulls herself up to make it off the field.

Sir Cefni de Bulford is a rather notable knight, he waits atop his mount with the crowds thinning very little throughout the long day of joust. He has his lance already and wears his helm comfortably. There is no squire but a young woman hands him his spear before stepping back. There's a look of adoration on her face. When word is given, he rides, meeting his match in the middle where both prove to be equally skilled with the lance. At the end, he turns, readying himself for the second pass. Leaning forward, he spurs his horse onward and his lance finds his opponent. Unsure if he had unhorsed him, he again turns, to check, once at the end.

Sir Merryn has had a good string of luck during the joust, seemingly unable to be toppled from his horse. And so when he rides out onto the field it's with a well-deserved confidence. His young attendent runs out onto the field, offering him his lance, which he takes after a brief touch to the red and gold scraf tied about his arm. And then it's right into the joust. And perhaps it is with a bit too much confidence. As they both strike in the first pass, in the second pass he finds himself cleanly unhorsed and on the ground. He waves off his attendant who runs out to help him up, managing to get to his feet under his own power. There's a short, slightly stiff nod towards his opponent, as he leads his horse from the field.

It's a rather unfortunate name, so someone had to make it famous. Sir Gareth de Nether Wallop was indeed famous and for a reason. He is tall, strong and proud on his horse, his lance in hand, shield ready. He looks at the opponent at the other end and offers a salute. Prodding his horse forward, he meets.. equally matched on the first pass. Second pass, he manages to gain purchase on the knight and strike hard.. turning, he looks to see the outcome.

Dywana has been at these jousts, and now Hadyn is called to the lists once more. The lady in question has just arrived though, a little dusty and winded as she comes to a stop by the stands. Instead of moving to sit, she simply steps in front of one large gentlemen and gets a better view of where Hadyn will be riding from.

Time for the third Joust. Sheer luck has carried him this far, how much further can he go? Hadyn reaches for his lance and lifts it to salute the Famous Knight, Sir Gareth de Nether Wallop. Once the flag lifts, they charge down the list, lances aimed for one another. Sir Gareth's lance makes contact, shattering on Hadyn's chest piece and flinging him backwards. Managing to maintain his hold on his horse, he gets to the end of the list and turns. He growls quietly, "I've got this.." he spurs his horse and charges a second time, narrowing his eyes he tries to aim for the left shoulder. Unfortunately for Hadyn, Sir Gareth's lance strikes him first. The impact shatters the lance and throws Hadyn from his mount. His foot gets caught and instead of a clean fall, he is drug through the dirt. His helmet comes loose and a few knocks on the noggin are his reward. Finally, as the warhorse is slowed and stopped by his squire at the end of the list, Hadyn's foot is untangled and the large man gets to his feet. His face has some scrapes and some bruising. He lifts his hand to the other knight in good sportsmanship before turning to his squire and murmuring something about drink.

The wide eyes of Dywana watches this all in horror, her full lips turn up with an 'O' and she starts to rush out to the field, only to be stopped by one of the guards that stand around for such things. He has his hands on her shoulder as she seems to stop breathing and only suck in a breath when Hadyn is moving again. She then tries to twist away the guard so she can go and meet Hadyn as soon as he's off the field.

Busy busy.. Hadyn is escorted rather quickly off the field so that he can go to the melee and compete. As Dywana approaches, he offers a half grin to her and says, "Shall we go and watch what's left of sense get knocked out of me." he chuckles quietly as he moves with a some haste.

Elysk de Ford < Nerys de Bishopstone (average)

Nerys approaches the tournament field, heading in the direction of the lists to wait for her turn. She's got her helmet tucked beneath one arm, eyes scanning the people in the crowd idly.

Erylys notices her cousin, starts to call out to her, but sees instead, the guard holding her back. She tilts her head, watching as Dywana goes off with Hadyn once the knight is off the field.

It was a crazy tournament for Sir Elusk de Ford, she had made it to the third round! Her family was proud of her and she was proud of herself. She was nervous though, having heard good things of her opponent from the first two rounds. Prepped and ready for her own passes, she rides them. One at a time. Sometimes her lance made contact.. sometimes it didn't, but her opponent seemed relentless. On the final pass, she meets a lance and his hit, pushing her back off the horse and onto the ground where she groans before being assisted to her feet by her squire. She stands, bowing to Nerys who will move on to the fourth round.

It's been a pretty crazy tournament for Nerys as well, after the last round she was a little more confident, but still almost disbelieving that she'd made it this far. After a good few passes, and unhorsing Elusk, she pulls her horse around to give the unhorsed knight a bow from the saddle of her horse before passing her lance off and heading away from the lists to make room for the next in line.
