This round of jousting bears some significance to Idris. It is the farthest, perhaps, he'd expect himself to go. But it is almost close to the end — so close he can almost grasp it. This is his good chance to make a great showing and make his late father proud. The opponent across from him is famous for his gallivanting, as well as some exploits at war. Sir Aron de Haxton is clad in pure white, a black rooster figured prominently and in contrast to his tabard. A man whose House motto is 'First to Serve' and likely the favorite to win the jousting competition.

The two gallop forwards, lances at the ready, the knight in black attentive to any cues in the motion of his opponent… and he hits the first time, but Aron remains steady. Aron hits the second time, and he remains steady. Aron hits again and steady he remains on horseback. He hits Aron a second time, but the famous knight is hard to defeat. Several lances go back and forth, the crowd kept in rapt attention at the exchange, before finally Aron has the best of Idris and topples the Bodenham, who falls off his horse.

There is a moment of quiet seething from the Bodenham when he stands up, eyeing the famous knight who bested him and now gallops around the lists. A name he will likely duel sometime soon, with real stakes. And the youngest of the Bodenham clan departs the lists afterwards, in a silence that makes his squire shiver.
