The first charge was an overwhelming success for the knights of Logres. The Salisbury knights devestated the ranks of the Cameliard knights. 25 remained on horse after the initial charge for Cameliard, while more than half remained for Salisbury. The numbers swelled, nearly 15 of the Salisbuyr knights found horses quickly and joined the engagement. Sir Bryce went for their standard bearer and was quickly unhorsed. Sir Aluksander spotted the commander afield and went after Lord Knight Edryd, Marshal of Cameliard. The battle was epic as the two exchanged blows, the younger standing toe to toe with the famour knight and vassal of King Leodegrance. After a lengthy exchange, Sir Aluksander was unhorsed.

Round 2!

Team 2 and Team 3 enter the Fray:

Count Ioan holds a moment, waiting for Duke Randall de Cheshire to move to assist Lord Knight Edryd who seems swarmed by Salisbury knights. Waiting for just the right moment, he leads a near flank, more an olbique into the knights of Cheshire. The gain an advantageous assult, +3 to their weapons rolls for the 2nd round. Team 3 Rides under Duke Pellivere as they go strait for Duke Morvid of Glouchester. Duke Morvid does the same, the two seem more interested in their own battle than the entire field. Salisbury knights amongst the Clarence knights find out why soon enough, the two counties have a long standing rivalry, and fight with a prejudice (+3 to the weapons of the enemy while Duke Morvid and Duke Pellivere remain engaged).

Team 1, afte the success of the first round, the enemy senses the arrival of Duke Randall to assist, and surges towards Robert. Players are at -5 to weapons this round (simply calculate all bonsus, +10 passion and -5, is +5 for the round). Unmounted knights can remount and engage on a successful horsemanship, otherwise are out for the round trying to find a mount (and if unable to found a mount next round are disqualified). If you mount, check your battle skill. If a critical, you may choose to engage the foe listed or roll 1d20 for a special event (1-5: -3 weapons for round disadvantage, 6-10 Normal, 11-18 +3 weapons advantage, 19 Standard bearer (notable stats), 20 Enemy Unit Commander (famous stats)

Otherwise, fight to knockdown, weapon against weapon. Your round is done once you knock down your opponet or are knocked down.

The melee is underway, the sound of hooves resounds as the reserves start moving onto the field. A charge by Duke Randell of Chesire towards the main body while Count Ioan waits a moment to charge at his knights. Duke Pellivere and Duke Morvid seem singly focused for now.

Engaged, no choice, Lord Knight Edryd

Bryce manages to grab a horse, still slightly numbed from his fall. Still, he manages somewhat to mount the steed with surprising agility. Even so… the Baverstock looks here and there and needs a moment for orientation, but soon has spotted an opponent he can attack, a knight of the Cameliard team.

Choosing to engage the new influx of combatants rather than the old, Acwel brandishes his sword, filled with a rage that can only stem from loyalty for Salisbury, and fighting in the Earl's name. He shouts out a battlecry as his horse gallops towards a new enemy, lifting the sword before swinging it in a wide arc to strike the opponent as powerfully as he can. There is no more playing nice with the Woodford, and perhaps now those in the opposition can see how deadly a diligent knight can be when enraged.

One might also notice the sword has a light-blue piece of cloth wrapped around the guard, some lady's favor, surely.

Acwel calls upon his favor, summoning the strength within for the moment. As he engages a knight of Cheshire, the young man caught unaware for the moment, he makes quick work. Its a solid blow by the knight of Salisbury. Even before the knight can mount a successful return, he slips from his horse falling to the ground.

A favor is wound about Bryce's arm as well, blue and red twined about a pendant. "Never Falter!" That will be his battle cry - the motto of his family - as the Baverstock urges his steed on, swinging his tourney blade at the knight in question.

Aeryn is on her horse still, the one she'd found after the initial charge. Her sword is swinging towards the knight she has her focus on as she attempts to unhorse him. Her own favor is on a leather strap around her neck, but tucked inside her armor all safe and sound.

The knight that Bryce finds returns with his sword. The two exchange blows, the young knight landing a solid one, but Bryce deflects to remain engaged in combat for the now. A slightly seasoned knight comes upon Sir Aeryn, finding her amongst those of Earl Robert's group and engaging her at will.

Amongst the knights under commnd of Count Ioan, one lone figure in green with Black trout proudly displayed on chest and shield, Sir Quillian de Broughton keeps his horse in line until the signal is given to ride. With a cry, the wild knight spurs his horse forward with Sword brandished, looking to engage and aid their comrades.

It's not a pretty moment for the Winterbourne Stoke. Not pretty at all. Her sword, while aimed well, was ill-delivered and completely knocks her off balance. What her own move begins, the knight Aeryn fights finishes as he delivers a crushing blow that unhorses her and she falls to the ground, rolling away from the horse before getting to her feet and seeking another horse.

For his part the Blackfish manages to engage with a Cheshire knight, both men's sword swinging and steel is kiss and parried. Twisting in his saddle, Quillian presses the attack, trying to unhorse his opponent.

Joining the field with the rest of Duke Pellivere's team, one knight stands out a bit, especially mounted, as the six foot tall Sir Bradwyn fides in, sword drawn and moving for the first target he can find, a young knight as he takes a swing trying to knock his opponent off their horse.

The exchange between Quillian and his knight continue. As does the battle around, with all teams on the field, there is a trodding on the field outside of Carlion, a show for the spectators. Grass is quickly trod to dirt, no dust as of yet as the spring soil is rich. Lucky to the workers of this field, it is being tilled for planting while everyone simply enjoys the spectacle itself.

Bryce de Baverstock takes a hit from his opponent which luckily enough glances off his shield and armor… but the impact could be enough to push him out of the saddle. Could. Maybe it is the favor he wears about his arm. Maybe it is the prayer he muttered when losing his sword a few moments prior. But this Baverstock stays in the saddle, gritting his teeth, before he gooes for the young knight again.

The knight of Lord Knight Edryd's team lands another hit, Bryce parries with his shield, while his own blade does not really connect. This time, the angle and force behind the strike are sufficient to send the Baverstock flying, as he is driven out if the saddle. Hitting the ground with a loud clatter of his armor - and a loud grumbled curse! More bruises from a fall off a horse - the third in this melee. And Bryce gets quickly to his feet, glancing about, as he mutters: "Dear God! Where is Devil when I need him?" But as far as he can tell there is no sign of his black stallion, which he lost sight of during the first charge.

FLASHBACK, BLACK AND WHITE: Last time on Adventourous Realms:

Glaw took a fall after his Noteable knight finally got past his spear and shield, taking a hard tumble from his horse.

FADE TO COLOR:

Rolling to his side, and then finding his feet again, a bit painfully, Glaw takes a moment to straighten the favor bound around his arm, before he casts a glance through the chaos of the melee towards the stands in the distance. This won't do. Not so soon. Not while both his liege and she are watching. Thrusting his spear into the mud, the next charger past him is his, gritting his teeth, snatching the reigs, before he pushes one foot into the reigns to mount up again. Pulling his sowrd then, he looks for new prey.

On the heels of Count Ioan and following his decisive command, Cyndeyrn rides into the already chaotic melee, a towering presence atop a thundering beast, every bit the intimidating image that the mounted knight is supposed to be. Clearly, their arrival is well-timed, hitting the flank of the rival unit even after it has moved to aid another of their leaders, pinning in their formation and causing no small amount of difficulty as their men try and reposition to meet the assault. One of the men splits off for the Dinton knight, and the two ride up side-to-side, exchanging blows above their shuffling, stamping steeds. Whatever the chaos, though, the rival knight is skillful and experienced, at least compared to the freshly-minted Dinton, and he is the first to make a meaningul strike across the gap that separates them, although in the awkwardness of his swing, the light blow merely rings off the dragon-marked shield, shaking Cyndeyrn lightly in his saddle but causing him no more distress than that.

Basking in the glory of the cheering crowd, his eyes looking at the faces of all the maidens fair, Brynmor sits proudly atop his horse. Miraculously, he looks as if he's wide awake, but that is what being surrounded by a crowd of adoring and cheering fans does to a fellow. He even lifts a hand in an acknowledging gesture to the masses. But wait! Suddenly, the knights around him surge forward to clash against the forces on Duke Randall's knights! So with just a hint of delay on his part, Brynmor joins their ranks, his sword extended high in the air, just waiting to be brought down hard on his chosen foe! This foe happens to be your average every-day knight! Brynmor has grown suspicious of such knights, having lost his falcon to one of them in a contest as it were. This very average knight could be the very same one! So forward he rides, making good speed with all this rage within him! Or, at the very least, a bit of annoyance. That is when he realizes, IT IS the SAME AVERAGE KNIGHT, with the same average face! Quickly, he spurs on, bringing him so close that he can just taste this bitter revenge!

Unfortunately, for Brynmor his strike comes up just a bit short and it is his Average foe that lands the better hit upon him! Even before he realizes what had happened, his eyes widen just as he is being knocked right off of his prancing horse, "Nooo! Not this again!" He then falls crashing down amidst the chaos in a heap.

As we peek back at Quillian and his knight:

This time his opponent finds an opening in his stance and catches him at the shoulder. Grimacing the knight keeps hold of his reigns as he rights himself under the blow of this Cheshire knight. Once righted he presses back with a furious hack of his sword to knock the man away.

The young knight vs. Quillian will not give up. "Surrender Salisbury Scum," the squeaky voice night yells at Qullian. Taking a his words as truth, he lands a solid thump again upon Sir Quillian trying to unhorse the knight.

Cat.. is unhorsed. It's not looking good for the Burcombe. There's an available horse but chances are, the other knight nearby is going to.. yep, there he goes. It's a mad dash for the horse and she's determined to elbow and muscle her way in to taking it.. she leaps.

Quillian is hit and caught under his arm as he swings up, his sword arm having left him open. Teetering to the other side his knees clench and keep him upright enough to right himself before he is swinging back at the Chesire. "Never you bloody bastard!" the Blackfish roars back, with savage swipe of his sword.

Seriol finally enters the fray, grouped with Count Ioan and his forces. The arrival adds yet more chaos to an already chaotic scene, although being freshly arrived they seem to be better focused than most. It is not long until the large Bishopstone Knight finds himself engaging one of the younger knights in the opposing force, each quickly attempting to throw the other off guard with quick sword strokes.

The mass battle is where the sights and sounds are lost and you simply have the Knight and horse before you. Unlike many of the Knights from both sides, the form becoming known as the Ebony Knight has readied her charger and waits in silence. Black,on Black with the accents of blood red grace both Knight and mount as Seraphina slides into the melee, sword in left hand and readies to meet the Young Knight in Blue, as he rides towards her.

The young knight against Seriol is overconfident, then again Count Ioan's tactic to hold a moment while they entered the main fray seems to have paid off. When the dust rises from the many horses on the field, he loses sight of the enemy, focused only on the first team from Salisbury. Caught off guard, he is quickly unhorsed.

Eyes of a deep amber narrow as Seraphina moves with speed into the fray, she stays low to her horse just before passing the KnightinBlue, sadly though the horse vires a little to close to the other knight and her sword goes wide, as she is rocked in the saddle she does seem to have control of the horse as she circles back to her opponent.

A knight of Glouchester comes upon Seraphine, thinking she is with the main group of Clarence. "If my sword wasn't rebated, I'd slice you clean Clarance dirtbag." They are not playing fare, actually some are trying to hurt each other, if one looked around in that match up of the reserve teams from Clarence and Glouchester.

Failed.
Bartimaeus checked his honor of 15, he rolled 16.

Seriol's engagement winds up being woefully quick. The young man opposing him really is a bit too focused and he never quite expected the fight to come at him from the angle it has. Still battle is filled with such unexpected surprises and after a momentary clash it is the large knight from Bishopstone who proves triumphant, a seeping blow of his sword finding it's way past his opponent's guard to the ring of metal and the unhorsing of his opponent. If Seriol is surprised at the quickness of that result, he tries to give no show of it. Yes. Clearly this happens to him all the time. Opponents just tumble out of their saddles at the very sight of him.

Catryn rolls 1d6 and gets (4) for a total of: (4)

everywhere are the deafening crashes of weapons striking armor, Winnies of horses, and cries of knights in battle. Through the heaving mass charges a knight in slate-grey armor, his dappled grey charger's dark mane and long tail flowing out behind him.

Lifting his gleaming blade high, Bartimaeus de Bishopstone presents his painted shield to the oncoming rush of rival knights. Pulling ahead of his fellows, the priestly Bishopstone fixes his sights on a largish knight in bright silver armor and charges him head on, sword sweeping in hard toward the man's abdomen as they pass one another at a gallop.

The launch worked and Catryn finds herself on a horse, a charger, like the one she had fallen off of. Drawing her sword, she looks around for an opponent!

The knight of Glouchester is upon Bartimaeus who seems to be calling on his honor to help him. "No help here Clotpole!" He shouts, gritted teach, wanting to squish the Clarence knights. Of course, they don't know Salisbury has joined Clarence ranks, he's out to gut some Clarence knights today.

Normally, Glaw is known to be somewhat level headed, some might even call him calculating. Not today. With being thrown so soundly out of the joust, the young knight has an axe to grind. Or sword, in this case. Once he gained control of the charger, though, that newfound inspiration, that beating battle drum that is his heart seems to cloud his senses. enough that he charges forward and thus puts himself on uneven ground with his unfamiliar horse, further tipping the odds against him as an enemy finally spots him and engages. That average knight of course only sees the advantages his approach will bring him, he might be surprised by the ferocity that Glaw puts forward when they close enough to let steel and shield do the talking.

A few passes of furious steel, before the charger under him looses its footing on the by now upturned earth, throwing off his aim, and the other knight strikes through. And down Glaw goes again. It is good there is so much noise! Surely the curses he is shouting are not exactly polite.

The man comes on Catryn when she joins the fray, "Eat dirt, sir lady!" He has nothing better to say upon her person as he swings his sword, trying to make good on that promise. She seems to show she is the better at horsemanship by taking his blows but remaining in the saddle just the same.

It's an all out crazy sort of battle, a free for all. Just find the opposing team and swing. It sounds simple.. it's not. Catryn swings her sword and the horse gets nudged by another's horse and takes a step back making her miss! (Because it couldn't possibly be a Burcombe's mistake!) Getting hit by the other guys sword though is her own fault whether she admits it or not! She growls and lifts her sword and swings fiercely.

The man on Quillian has had enough, with his return taunt. "Speak with your sword, I shall show you how!" And the man doesn't let go, he really starts to swing. He may be trying to actually hurt Quillian if one had to guess by the fury of his blows this moment.

"I shall show you the tongue I spoke to your mother with!" Quillian likely foolishly states as his blow is paried before the harder blow is swung at him. A grimace is given but Shield comes up catching the blow in to to stave from damage, but finally he is unhorsed, sliding off. Quill lands with a grunt before moving into a crouch. He is going to have to get on his mount again- and fast. Though unseen eyes narrow inside the Blackfish's helm.

The man upon Cyndeyrn does much the same, or misses more than anything else, taking a hit from the other knight but manage to remain on his horse, adjusting his knees for stability as he does so.

Bradwyn continues to engage his fellow young knight, and once more takes a harder blow on his shield. Swaying back the six foot knight of Idmiston remains seated, shacking off the blow and refocusing his efforts. Seemingly having had enough of his performance in the joust, challenges, and now here Bradwyn roars out, "For House Idmiston!" and attempts to bring a solid blow down on his opponent, calling on his love for his family to give him strength.

Bartimaeus' sword smashes into his skilled opponent's shield as the two men ride past, the silver knight's own sword striking a painful blow to his shoulder that pushes him back in the saddle but isn't enough to unseat him. Flashing back to thoughts of his battles against Sirs Idris and Kamron, the priestly fellow's confidence seems to depart him.

Wheeling his horse around, the Bishopstone knight circles with his larger opponent, sparks flying from their blades as they trade vicious blows. But the priest's attacks are slower, posture unsure as he begins to doubt his ability to face the more experienced knight. What if he fails, and brings shame upon his family? His mood grows dark at the thought.

Cyndeyrn remains locked in his melee, the affair now a rather graceless exchange of blows. No fancy swordplay, but heavy swings as each tries to batter the other from his steed. A few more strokes are exchanged, and this time the Dinton knight gains some advantage, managing after a few inconclusive slashes, parries and counterattacks to batter his foe's sword down out of position and then make another hacking blow on his shield. This one lands hard, giving a good, audible ring throughout the nearby chaos. Yet still, while the other knight is not quite so formiddably large as his foe, he is well experienced in the saddle, shouldering the impact and rocking in place, but still holding upright on his steed. Their fight seems as though it might continue a while.

Bradwyn seeks to honor his family, swelling with a sense of pride perhaps, making it more difficult for the young knight. The renewed interest in this fight by Bradwyn causes him to raise swords as a second shield, which is knocked from his hand. He lets the sword go to stay upon his horse.

Bartimeaus' knight still views him as a Clarence knight, doing his best to unhorse him, yet the man stays seated despite the antics of the knight that is locked in combat with him.

His young opponent without a sword, Bradwyn takes full advantage and swings once more in his family's name, striking hard enough for the metal striking the wood of the shield to echo as his opponent goes down. At least as much as an impact can echo in a chaotic melee.

The knight fighting Cyndeyrn see's he's a big fellow. He swings away, only focus on hitting the fellow. When Cyndeyrn falls, he's half as surprised himself, imagining a crater is left on the ground but no time to look, the melee goes on.

Bradwyn shows a display of swordmanship, the evocation of his family passion wins through, a tough swing bruises the knight beneath his armor, as his opponent falls to the ground.

A quiet grunt escapes from beneath Bartimaeus' helm as a particularly brutal chop lands dead center on his shield. The force of the blow nearly shoves out of the saddle, but a nudge of his knees causes his horse to prance sideways, remaining firmly beneath the distracted knight. He makes no move to correct his silver opponent's assumption, merely hefting his painted shield and spinning his horse around with a swipe of his gleaming blade, beginning to circle his notable opponent in the opposite direction.

Seraphina remains locked in combat with her opponent. "Give up already," he is grunting as neither make headway for the round.

The Ebony Knight, known as Seraphina de Newetone, follows with a flash of steel against steel somewhere lost there in the middle of the battle. With the next shift of her mount she switches hand as if trying to surprise the other Knight, it does in a way. When she misses and is hit, she doesn't even sway in the saddle, trying to use the surprise of the off hand for the next attack.

Well, so much for that long, banging, crashing fight. Cyndeyrn leans over to take another heavy swing, but shifts just a little too far forward in his saddle, obviously intent on getting some extra leverage against his foe. But when he ends up with his sword parried low, his foe manages to get a higher, heavier swing down onto him, and while he holds up his shield to defend it, it doesn't cushion enough impact to hold him, leaning uot over the gap as he is. Instead, he tumbles into that open space between the horses, landing with a heavy thump of chain.

Cyndeyrn rolls 1d6 and gets (2) for a total of: (2)

Back and forth Catryn goes with her opponent and she continues to slash and swing it out, only she keeps coming up with the short sword. It's not cool! Her opponent keeps making advantages after advantages, cutting away at her and she's barely able to remain on her horse, but still, it wages on.

The man makes good on his attempt against Seraphina, landing a good wallop (cause it came up as a fun manor name). It cracks but before he can turn to watch her fall, he is focused on another in the melee at foot.

The young Knight on Catryn was happy with his hit, sad that she stayed mounted and is surprised as she returns a quick blow. He sees it too late and is off his horse before he can think to mount a proper defense.

Chop, chop, chop. Hack, hack, hack. Finally, there's a brief ending to the madness as her opponent is unhorsed and Catryn manages to stay on! Woo! The tides are turning, she quickly seeks out another opponent..

The silver knight's strike catches Bartimaeus off guard, hammering his shield up into the side of his head and dazing him just long enough for his horse to surge out from under him. Landing hard on his side, the Bishopstone knight plants the point of his shield against the ground and levers himself to his feet, mounted knights still clashing all around him.
