As he saw who he was about to face in the second round of the joust, Martyn was a bit worried. After all, Sir Iefan de Ancrum was known as a very solid jouster. But after all, it was better to get things over and done with, right? As he gets ready, he offers a respectful nod to the big strong man on the other side, built a bit like the bull that the head of is on the coat of arms. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall, right?" he mutters to himself as he gets ready to charge.

Managing to stay in the saddle, but without getting a really good hit in himself, Martyn is still grimacing a bit as he gets to the end of the field. Turning, he waits until the other man is ready, then gets the horse to thunder forward once more, aiming the lance carefully.

This time, Martyn gets the better of it. But the other knight is not exceptional at his craft for just about any reason. He remains steady on his mount, wheeling around to get a fresh lance and gallop towards the Baverstock once again.

"Ah, yes…" Martyn mutters to himself, waiting just the very few moments before he gallops towards the other knight once more. Muttering something under his breath as he moves forward.

For the third pass, the Knight smashes his lance against Martyn successfully, but it is not enough to make the opponent fall. He laughs, nodding respectfully to the Baverstock as he gets a fourth lance.

There's a similar respectful nod in return from the Baverstock although Martyn winces momentarily while getting ready once more. "Time to get this done…" he mutters to himself as he charges forward again.

The problem with having barely held on for that many passes is that sooner or later, your luck runs out. And that time approached for Martyn, who one moment finds himself in the saddle, the next going through the air before hitting the ground and rolling around a bit. When he stops, he lets out a bit of a grimace and a few deep breaths, before slowly getting to his feet. "Well done, Sir. Good luck in the rest of the joust," he calls to his opponent, along with a polite bow, before making his way off the field.
