Another day at the lists sees a very somber looking Sir Fayne sitting atop his black charger waiting his turn. The broody Stapleford in his dark armor cuts a fairly impressive if somewhat intimidating looking figure. His expression though is too bored to be considered intimidating and its easy to tell that he just wants to get this over with. When the announcer calls his name Fayne sighs and dons his helmet, his excitable squire hands him a lance and off he trots readying himself as he goes. His opponent is a man who far outclasses him, in both size and likely skill as well. An extraordinary knight in terms of fame. Fayne just regards him with respectful calm and offers a polite salute as he waits for the signal to charge. Hopefully this will be over quick at least.

Failed.
Fayne checked his lance of 14, he rolled 19.

The horses charge and Fayne takes a hit that strikes hard against his shield. The other knights lance shatters from the impact but somehow Fayne keeps his balance in the saddle. Wheeling his horse around he prepares for the second pass. He lowers his own lance and charges in once again grumbling softly under his breath.

Another pass and another hit is taken by the Stapleford knight. Still for some reason Fayne is still hanging in there, the horses pass each other and turn about. Fayne sighs softly from behind his helmet and charges forward on his black charger once again. He may not really care if he wins or loses but he seems to be putting on a fairly good show at least.

And finally Fayne goes down! The next hit has him pushed back out of his saddle and falling to the ground. It doesn't take long for him to pull himself up though and he nods politely to the knight who bested him. "Well fought." Its said politely and with a strange kind of graditiude. The Stapleford goes to retrieve his horse and change into his normal attire. Despite the fact that he was bested he looks pleased for some reason.
